That way you will have peace of mind and proceed without fear.
There are two types of mud removal techniques you should know, depending on whether the mud has set in or not.
Treating fresh mud stains
- Tools you will need - the tools you will need to treat a mud stains are the following: plastic spoon or knife, a nail brush or a toothbrush, washer, liquid dish soap, laundry detergent and bleach (in case the stained clothes can actually tolerate it).
- Stain removal technique - before you begin, keep one thing in mind: don’t treat damp or wet mud! Doing so will likely spread it and cause it to become deeply ingrained in the fabric, which is most certainly not what you want. Always allow enough time for the mud to dry completely before proceeding with stain removal. When the mud is dry, use the plastic spoon or knife to scrape off the excess dirt. You have to be careful not to grind the dirt in the fibres of the clothing you are trying to clean. Use the brush on the stained area. Add few drops of the liquid soap and work it onto the stain. Introduce some water and brush on both sides. If you go through the process once and see that the stain persists, you may need to repeat the cleaning service, few times. Alternatively, you can treat the stained area with a laundry pre-treatment product. Always wash the garment by following all instructions on the tags. Avoid using dryer to dry clothes, as that can easily set the stain into your clothes and that would be a disaster.
Treating set-in mud stains
- Tools you will need - what you need for effective cleaning service is hand cleaner, a small brush, laundry detergent and a washing machine that is in working order.
- Stain removal technique - apply a layer of hand cleaner on the stain. You have to do so on both sides of the stain. Mechanic hand cleaner is among the most effective products you can find, but you can also use a regular product found at any supermarket. Use the brush for some good scrubbing. The goal you are after is a cleaner deeply set up in the fibres of your clothing. You can ensure this is the case when you let the cleaner set for an hour or so. Continue the cleaning service in the washing machine. Remember to use warm water and a laundry detergent that you can trust. There is a specific here and it comes from the fact that you should allow the clothes to agitate more than usual. A good 30 minutes will be great for ensuring the mud stain comes off easily. Air dry the clothes after washing and see if the stain is removed. If it still persists, you will need to repeat the process again.
Following these 2 methods for mud stain removal will ensure that your clothes are cleaned after every adventure. Don’t allow such trivial problems to spoil your fun, as you now have the perfect solutions.
