Lola Cleaners Modern Slavery Statement

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions and commitments of Lola Cleaners to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. Lola Cleaners recognises its responsibility to respect, protect, and promote human rights and is committed to conducting business in an ethical, transparent, and accountable manner.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

Lola Cleaners has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate forced, bonded, or involuntary labour, child labour that contravenes local laws and international standards, or any practice that exploits individuals or undermines their dignity and fundamental rights. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers who work with or on behalf of Lola Cleaners.

All working relationships must be based on freely chosen employment, fair treatment, and safe working conditions. We expect every individual and organisation associated with Lola Cleaners to uphold these principles as a condition of engagement and ongoing collaboration.

Our Supply Chain Standards

Lola Cleaners engages with a range of suppliers that provide cleaning products, equipment, uniforms, and related services. We are committed to working only with suppliers who share our values and demonstrate respect for human rights. Our supplier standards require compliance with applicable labour laws, health and safety regulations, and fair working practices, including the prohibition of modern slavery and human trafficking.

As part of our procurement process, we assess potential suppliers on ethical criteria in addition to quality, price, and reliability. We clearly communicate our zero-tolerance policy and require suppliers to confirm that they do not engage in, or support, any form of modern slavery.

Supplier Audits and Due Diligence

Lola Cleaners operates a risk-based due diligence process to identify and manage the risk of modern slavery within our supply chains. Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits or request evidence of their own due diligence and compliance programs. These audits may include reviewing employment records, health and safety practices, and worker welfare arrangements.

Suppliers identified as higher risk, due to geographic location, sector, or type of work, may be subject to more frequent review or deeper assessments. If any supplier fails to meet our standards or is found to be involved in practices associated with modern slavery, we will require immediate corrective actions. Failure to remedy concerns within a reasonable timeframe may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Lola Cleaners encourages all employees, workers, and third parties to raise any concerns relating to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be reported through our internal reporting channels or directly to senior management. Reports may be made confidentially, and we are committed to handling all concerns sensitively and, where requested, anonymously to the extent permitted by law.

No person raising a concern in good faith will suffer any form of retaliation or disadvantage. We will promptly investigate all reported matters and, where appropriate, take remedial actions, including working with suppliers to resolve issues or involving relevant authorities.

Training and Awareness

To support effective implementation of this statement, Lola Cleaners provides training and guidance to relevant employees, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management. Training covers the indicators of modern slavery, the importance of due diligence, and the procedures for reporting and escalating concerns.

We also seek to raise awareness among our wider workforce so that everyone understands their role in upholding our zero-tolerance policy and recognising potential signs of exploitation.

Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement

Lola Cleaners is committed to continual improvement in its approach to preventing modern slavery. We regularly review our policies, risk assessments, and due diligence processes to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to the risks we face.

This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually by our leadership team. The review considers changes in legislation, emerging risks, feedback from audits, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year. Where necessary, we update our procedures, training, and supplier engagement practices to strengthen our response.

This statement reflects Lola Cleaners ongoing commitment to respect human rights and combat modern slavery in all its forms. It has been approved by the leadership of Lola Cleaners and will be made available to employees, suppliers, and stakeholders.
